Background:
The program is chosen for children only. The course is designed to enhance Capacity of children to see problems and find new, original ways to solve them; Capacity to promote new ideas; Capacity to find, create new things; Capacity to think independently; Capacity to express oneself in new ways and forms. The course shall arouse children’s Curiosity, make them flexible, to be Passionate, inspire them & increase their zeal to Looking ahead.
Various turtorials in creating new shapes in breads, pizzas,cakes and cookies etc. would bring out the components of creativity in children like Talent (natural aptitude), Personal characteristics, motivation, Readiness (experience, education), Impact of environment.

The course will enable children to:

  • Create shapes in bread like turtle bread, alligator bread, frog bread, braided bread and so on.
  • Kids would create shapes in pizzas
  • Cakes like pirate cakes, balloon cakes, space ship cake would enhance creativity in children.
  • Design & make biscuits of their liking.

Day one
10:00 a.m.        Welcome and Orientation

Flour Facts

  • Why wheat flour can be moulded into so many shapes?
  • How does wheat grain differ from other grains.

Bread Dough

  • Mixing ingredients like water, salt, sugar, fats, yeast, gluten to make dough.
  • How to handle the dough

Noon            Children shall bring Tiffin for their lunch

Hands-on-Demonstration

  • Demonstrations and do-it-yourself on turtle bread, alligator bread, frog bread, braided bread.

4:00 p.m.   Adjourn for the day

Day Two

10:00 a.m.    Discussion

  • Elements of art & Principles of design that are helpful in creating shapes and decorating bakery items.

Dough processing Steps

  • Children shall know about the key steps of pizza production from the mixing of dough through to a finished product.

Noon     Children shall bring Tiffin for their lunch

Pizza Dough’s

  • Formulation, ingredients and processes for making pizza dough.

Hands-on Baking 

  • Hand-on Lab For other products.
  • Create superman, Mickey mouse, Batman, Heart & Wu-Tang Pizza’s.

4:00 p.m.   Adjourn for the day

Day Three

10:00 a.m.   Evaluation of products made in previous day’s Lab

  • Review of baked products and discussion of what are key characteristics for the products.

Cookies & Crackers

  • What differentiates cookies from crackers.
  • Examine the ingredients and processes used to make them.
  • Overview of cookie & cracker markets

Noon                       Children shall bring Tiffin for their lunch

Hands-on-Baking 

  • Demonstrations & prepare at your own different shaped cookies.

4:00 p.m.      Adjourn for the day

Day Four

10:00 a.m.              Evaluation of products made in previous day’s Lab

  • Review the characteristics of cookies and characters.

Colour

  • Primary colours.
  • How to blend these to get desired secondary colours.

Noon    Children shall bring Tiffin for their lunch

Hands-on Baking 

  • Demonstrations & prepare yourself Pirate, spaceship, flying kite, balloon cakes

4:00 p.m.    Adjourn for the day

Day Five

10:00 a.m.    Review

  • Review the products prepared in previous day’s lab

Decorating cakes

  • How to handle decorating bags & nozzles.
  • How to create sugar shapes for decorating cakes.

Course Review

Presentation of Certificates
