Huge Penalties recovered by FSSAI for adulteration
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has recovered around 19.0 crores of Rs. as penalties against food adulteration as per a note from the apex body.
According to FSSAI, during the last three years 32000 samples of food were found un-conforming to regulations wherein prosecution was launched resulting in recovery of penalties.
Meanwhile, according to sources, FSSAI is to intensify sampling in the wake of recent controversy surrounding Maggi instant noodles, which faces serious questions after testing in various parts of the country found MSG & LED beyond limits.
